Transmar Commodity Group is an omnibus trade house with special strengths in all types of cocoa beans and semi-finished cocoa products.  Founded by Peter G. Johnson, the company is privately owned and is now the longest continuously operated trade house in the USA.  Using a large network of suppliers, brokers, and agents, Transmar operates a trading book in virtually every major bean origin and has customers in nearly all consumer nations.  The company has become an especially active buyer of Ecuador cocoa beans, recently rising to one of the largest buyers in the world, purchasing nearly 20% of their crop.  In addition to the trading unit, Transmar has recently expanded into processing in various degrees.
